About

Kristin Colaneri is a multidisciplinary artist, curator, educator, and creative producer based in Dallas, Texas, USA. Her work exists at the intersection of visual art, performance, film, food, storytelling, and community engagement. She holds a Master of Arts in Humanities with an emphasis in Art and Film from The University of Texas at Dallas and has dedicated her career to creating meaningful experiences that connect people through creativity, conversation, and culture.

As an artist, Kristin’s practice spans painting, collage, photography, performance art, installation, theatre, film, costume and character development, and experiential programming. Her work explores themes of identity, mythology, memory, human connection, technology, and the evolving relationship between personal and collective narratives. She is particularly interested in the ways art can create opportunities for dialogue across cultures, disciplines, and communities.

A guiding principle of Kristin’s practice is cultural sensitivity, curiosity, and respect. She believes meaningful artistic exchange begins with listening and relationship-building rather than imposing preconceived ideas. Throughout her career she has worked with diverse communities and approaches each collaboration with a commitment to understanding local context, honoring cultural traditions, and fostering mutual learning through creative engagement.

Kristin is a three-time grant recipient through the Dallas Office of Arts and Culture and was recognized by the Dallas Observer as Performance Artist of the Year. Her work has been presented through solo exhibitions, collaborative exhibitions, public art projects, performances, educational initiatives, and interdisciplinary programming.

In addition to her studio practice, Kristin has extensive experience as an executive producer, curator, and arts educator. She has produced and directed live events, exhibitions, theatrical productions, film projects, community-based programs, and educational experiences, overseeing artistic vision, logistics, partnerships, audience development, and community engagement.

As the founder and curator of The Artist Dinner Date, Kristin combines her interests in contemporary art, hospitality, education, and cultural exchange through curated experiences that bring together artists, chefs, collectors, and the public around shared meals and meaningful conversation. The project reflects her belief that art is not only something to be viewed, but something that can foster connection, empathy, and understanding between people.

Whether working as an artist, curator, educator, or producer, Kristin’s mission remains consistent: to create thoughtful and inclusive experiences that celebrate creativity, encourage dialogue, and strengthen human connection across cultural boundaries.
